MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to build a recognisable brand of high-quality pro wrestling within Australia and, through our actions, promote equality for marginalised groups in our industry.

PWA CORE VALUES

PWA - Pro Wrestling Australia strives to create a uniquely Australian, world-class wrestling product that promotes a culture of fairness and equality. Providing a range of events from Black Label 18+ shows filled with adult themes and humour, to Green Label family-friendly shows, we extend our values to all PWA Team Members.

The core values PWA holds for itself and staff are:

  • Respect for our staff, patrons and the industry of which we are part.

PWA team members (which includes management, performers, volunteers and any other staff) will respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow PWA team members, venue staff and patrons as well as the equipment we use and venues in which we perform. With a respectful culture and environment, our performers can produce their best work and patrons are free to enjoy themselves without concern.

No abuse, harassment or bullying in any form will be tolerated from PWA team members or patrons alike.

  • Safety for performers, staff and patrons.

The well-being of our staff and patrons is our top priority.  We wish to promote an inclusive culture but will not tolerate when any person puts our staff or patrons at an unacceptable risk. Through our peer support team and grievance procedures we encourage speaking out against any grievances, inappropriateness or incidents of abuse to ensure the safety of PWA Team members and patrons alike.

Pro Wrestling also involves many physical risks for our performers and staff. We strive to create a culture where safety is the first priority of all who participate. In order to minimise the physical risk for themselves and for fellow performers, only wrestlers who regularly practise and train will be allowed to perform and equipment used will be maintained for safety.

  • Inclusivity for every person who shares our passion, dream and work ethic.

PWA will maintain an inclusive culture where people are free to be transparent about their true selves with the aim of attracting diversity. We understand the importance of representation on our events and we welcome the different range of ideas and characters that come with it. Any person who shares our values will be welcomed regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion or sexual orientation. We seek to create an environment where everyone is welcome.

  • Hard work in and outside the ring.

Locally we have had to overcome a general reputation for poor quality associated with other local pro wrestling companies. To combat this, PWA has consistently worked to provide events of the highest quality in regard to in-ring activity, event production, promotional material and film, and will not accept anything less. Our culture is one of healthy competition where we drive each other to be our best.

We insist that everyone who joins us maintains the attitude and work ethic required to create a brand recognisable for high quality entertainment within Australia and on a world stage.

*During showtimes and promotional activities our performers may portray fictional characters and play out storylines ranging from heroic to villainous. These characters are fictional, and their actions should not be confused with the actions or attitudes of the performer, or PWA as a company.

**Characters will not be portrayed outside showtime and promotional activities.
