Get Up To Date With Toni Storm
When you think of the women dominating PROGRESS wrestling and the UK independent scene, Toni Storm’s name immediately comes to the forefront. At only 22 years of age, this 9-year veteran has taken the wrestling world by storm (pun intended).
Born in New Zealand, Storm spent her early childhood in Australia competing across the country including in PWWA events, before relocating to the UK to pursue the art of pro wrestling.
Since her departure, Storm has performed in numerous countries for various promotions across the globe, notably for World Wonder Ring Stardom in Japan where she currently holds the SWA World Championship and World of Stardom Championships.
In 2017, Storm was a participant in WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic, where she had an impressive showing, making it to the semi-final rounds, only to be eliminated by NXT’s Kairi Sane.
Additionally, she is also the current Westside Xtreme Wrestling Women’s Champion; a promotion based in Germany and the first ever PROGRESS Women’s Champion.
Since winning the championship, she has defended the title against world-renowned competitors such as Kay Lee Ray, Candice Le Rae and Dahlia Black just to name a few. In an exciting twist, PWA’s own, Charli Evans won a number 1 contenders tournament and faced Storm for the title in a losing effort.
At PWA’s most recent event, ‘Return of the Ospreay’, after defeating FaceBrooke, Jessica Troy had some choice words to say about Toni Storm challenging her at PROGRESS x PWA.
Will Storm accept the challenge? And if so, will Jessica find a way to counter her Strong Zero Piledriver and lock in her Fujiwara Arm Bar?
Only time will tell.
