5 Wrestlers We'd Love To See Face Pete Dunne
PROGRESS X PWA at the Star Sydney is fast approaching with over 400+ tickets already been purchased by PWA fans who wish to see their favourite competitors go up against some of the best professional wrestlers from Progress. With more talent announcements to come, we thought we might create a list of top five competitors, and one wild card wrestler, we would love to see wrestle WWE’s United Kingdom Champion, former Progress champion, the Bruiserweight Pete Dunne!
The young and bitter Pete Dunne has travelled the world and wrestled some of the most notable names in professional wrestling, but we can assure you, Pete Dunne has never faced the likes of these 5 competitors.

1. Robbie Eagles:
It is only fitting that the man to step up to Pete Dunne and represent PWA is the current PWA Heavyweight Champion, Robbie Eagles! Eagles has seen an unprecedented rise in notoriety, both domestically and internationally, coming off the NJPW tour and making waves all over the world with his world class bouts against IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay. If there was one person who epitomises the fight, determination, skill and burning spirit to take on UK’s best...hands down, that person is Robbie Eagles.

2. Jack J. Bonza
The enemy of my enemy, is my friend. This phrase rings true for the leader of the Red Nation, Jack J. Bonza. While Bonza may not be everyone’s most beloved superstar in PWA, in times of battle and war, there is no better person to lead the charge. Bonza is a former PWA & Newcastle Pro Heavyweight Champion and a world travelled performer. Again, he is also coming off the heels of wrestling for NJPW on their Australian tour. If the Bruiserweight wants a match, then we will more than happily have him pledge to the leader of the Red Nation!

3. Madison Eagles
Man or woman, Madison Eagles has established a reputation throughout her twenty year career by defeating some of the finest professional wrestlers in history. Pete Dunne may have encountered some of the great Joshi wrestlers of our time, but he has never faced the likes of a former 2 x Shimmer Woman’s champion, 2011 PWI Number 1 ranked female competitor, PWWA Champion Madison Eagles! The question is, Bitter End v Spider German?

4. Mick Moretti
The rapscallion, master of mischief, Mick Moretti has become one of the most unpredictable and fierce competitors in Australia. The rapscallion’s unique blend of mind games and dastardly ways, combined with his natural talent and strength in the ring, could prove to much for even Pete Dunne to handle. It would be wise for the Brusierweight to do his homework and research, because the rapscallion will always have a new trick up his sleeve. Can we see it April 23rd?

5. Caveman Ugg:
Sometimes, you just need a big strong man to take care of business. No mind games, nothing fancy, just straight up brutality in the form of Caveman Ugg. Caveman Ugg has been steamrolling through the PWA roster with his deadly Ugg Smash. No man or woman has managed to kick out of this devastating maneuver, so it would be fair to say, if Caveman Ugg were to hit it on Pete Dunne, we would no doubt have PWA be victorious over Progress. This one lethal move, together with Ugg’s immense strength and power, and surprising agility, would make quite a worthy challenge for Pete Dunne.
WILDCARD: Big Fudge
There is our top 5 names of who we’d like to see wrestle Progress’ own Pete Dunne. However, we’ve decided to throw in a wild card entry. We believe, that PWA’s largest and heaviest wrestler (allegedly) would make a suitable candidate to wrestle Pete Dunne. Dunne may have the bitter end, but we would like to see him come up against the sweetest and most delicious man in professional wrestling, Big Fudge! No Progress wrestler would be able to compete against the superhuman size and strength (allegedly) of Fudge!
So there it is, our top 5 picks but who would YOU like to see wrestle ‘The Brusierweight’ Pete Dunne?
With more Progress talent announcements to come as well as PWA talent, the show is shaping to be one of the largest shows in Australian professional wrestling. We hope to see you at the Star Casino April 23rd for Progress x PWA.
